Maharana Pratap

Maharana Pratap was a Rajput king of the Mewar region in northwestern India, who ruled from 1572 to 1597. He was born on May 9, 1540, in Kumbhalgarh, Rajasthan, India, to Maharani Jaiwanta Bai and Maharana Udai Singh II.

Maharana Pratap is known for his valiant resistance against the Mughal emperor Akbar, who was attempting to expand his empire. Maharana Pratap refused to surrender to Akbar and continued to fight for the freedom of his people.

He is best known for the Battle of Haldighati, which took place on June 18, 1576. In this battle, Maharana Pratap and his army fought against the Mughal army led by Akbar's general Man Singh I. Despite being outnumbered and outgunned, Maharana Pratap and his army fought fiercely and managed to hold off the Mughal forces. Although Maharana Pratap did not win the battle, his bravery and courage have made him a legendary figure in Indian history.

Maharana Pratap died on January 29, 1597, at the age of 57, due to injuries sustained in a hunting accident. He is remembered as a great warrior and a symbol of Rajput pride.
